Therapeutic Exercise

Therapeutic ExerciseAfter your evaluation, your therapist will utilize specific exercise interventions to address any part of your biomechanical chain that may not be functioning properly. You will progress these exercises throughout your plan of care and they will become even more specific to help you achieve your goals.

Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training

BFRBFR training is one of the newer, cutting edge interventions that we use here at LOTS. It is the quickest way to build strength and hypertrophy in muscles. Once your therapist deems you safe to perform BFR, you will use “Smart Cuffs” to partially occlude your blood flow to a certain area of your body and perform a specific protocol of exercises to safely build strength.

Sports Injury Prevention

baseball.jpgOur therapists are specially trained to determine if there are any faults in your biomechanical chain. Once these faults are seen, your therapist can send you home with a specific list of exercises to work on these things and reduce the risk of injury. We also have access to the most up to date return to sport programs following an injury that our therapists implement to ensure the most efficient and safe return to activity.

Dry Needling

Dry NeedlingDry needling is obviously very popular right now and seems to becoming more popular each day! It is one of the most efficient manual techniques that can eliminate trigger points/muscle tightness, reduce nerve pain, and even re-educate muscles. Our therapists have been trained to dry needle the general population and have had further training to specifically dry needle the athletic population. Most of our patients describe needling as painless to mild pain and have no soreness or up to 24 hours of soreness following a needling session.

Vertigo/Vestibular Rehabilitation

Vertigo Vestibular RehabilitationVertigo and vestibular problems tend to overlap with each other in most cases. Chase has trained in the Baylor system to treat vertigo issues, specifically BPPV. Our therapists are also trained to help with general dizziness and vestibular hypofunction.

TPI Screen

TPI ScreenTPI (Titleist Performance Institute) developed a screening tool that looks at the swing of a golfer and can predict any swing faults that the golfer may have that could result in injury or decreased efficiency in the golf swing. We don’t believe that there is one and only one swing pattern for all golfers, but instead, each golfer’s normal body mechanics/structure should lead to a natural swing pattern. The TPI screen is used to ensure the golfer is using that swing pattern. Then, as clinicians and coaches, we make sure the swing is efficient and safe so that you’ll be able to consistently repeat your swing and reduce your risk of injury.
