About Us

Grace Blackwelder, PTA

Grace Blackwelder was born and raised in Colville, Washington. She attended Washington State University—go Cougs!—where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work. In 2011, she moved to New Orleans to be closer to family and began working at Commander’s Palace, where she met her husband, Cody, who was also working there at the time.

Over the years, Grace and Cody have lived in several cities—including Denver, New Orleans, and Nashville—while Cody pursued his schooling and medical residency. During Cody’s time in medical school, Grace returned to school and earned her Associate of Applied Science degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Delgado Community College. She began her PTA career at Crane Rehab’s outpatient facility in New Orleans, where she treated patients with balance disorders, orthopedic injuries, and more.

In 2013, Grace and her family relocated to Nashville, where she spent four years working in a skilled nursing facility, helping patients regain mobility and independence. Now thrilled to be in Cody’s hometown of Ruston, Grace is excited to raise their two boys in this wonderful community. She has loved working with Legacy Rehabilitation and serving the North Louisiana patient population.

Grace is passionate about providing compassionate, individualized care to help each patient achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
